WOODBRIDGE, VA - Early Saturday morning, police were summoned to a residence on Woodway Pl. to investigate an assault involving a firearm that had occurred late Friday evening. The incident involved a 17-year-old male victim and an acquaintance who were at a social gathering at the specified location.

The altercation, initially verbal, escalated when the pair moved to a second room within the residence. Here, multiple unknown men brandished firearms at the victim, with one individual striking him with a firearm. The confrontation continued outside the residence, where the acquaintance tackled the victim to the ground.

Another unknown individual then approached and also brandished a firearm towards the victim before the groups dispersed.

The victim subsequently received medical attention for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital and police were notified. Efforts to identify all individuals involved in the incident are ongoing.

STAFFORD, VA— A man was arrested for driving under the influence for the second time in five years after being found asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle outside a CVS on Chatham Heights Road. First Sergeant M.R. Flick and Deputy M.A. Holub of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office were called to the scene following a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, they found a 31-year-old male and a 34-year-old male with apparent non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

GLEN BURNIE, MD— A routine traffic stop escalated into significant legal charges early on June 9, 2024, when Glen Burnie police officers stopped a gray 2015 Mazda on Crain Highway at Hidden Brook Drive. The stop, which occurred at approximately 1:45 AM, led to the discovery of a loaded .32 caliber handgun and approximately 1.91 grams of suspected crack cocaine inside the vehicle.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Chive Omar Benjamin of Baltimore, Maryland, then fled the scene on foot. Officers promptly searched the surrounding area and located Benjamin near Polk Circle. This encounter led to further investigation, including the execution of a search warrant on a white Toyota Camry believed to be used by Benjamin.
