PART 1

Fantastic. I have been waiting to read this since I read the Trilogy about Daniel and I absolutely wanted to know Olivia and Kaden's story which sounded very captivating, and it is.
Eli's writing is super clear, emotional and easy to read to me so I loved how the characters were introduced and described and I was immediately pulled into the emotions of Olivia and Kaden's encounter. Wow the mkment their eyes met for the first time, the pull of their bond was so strong even without Olivia knowing she's a wolf, not knowing about fated mates.
The entire story in this part is very intense with Olivia trying to navigate unknown feelings while having a human boyfriend and Kaden fighting his urge to be with her. I particularly loved the moments between Olivia and Kai, Kaden's wolf <3
I can't wait to read part 2, I expect them to still go through a lot!

PART 2

O. M. G. The. Angst.
They did go through a lot in this second part, especially Olivia. I felt so bad for her and I could sympathise with all her feelings. She feels betrayed by everyone, like she's lost everyone, like she can't trust anyone, she feels lost, and she was totally right to feel that way. I even liked her dark, revengeful side, a lot, even though she was tricked into it.
Alphas are hard to like sometimes, they can be protective and caring but also colder and insensitive at times, which is just part of their character.
Eli really dares to reach such level of angst that I think I hold my breath for a few chapters Lol.
At some point I really didn't know how it would be possible for things to be resolved, until they did.
It's only thanks to reading Daniel' Trilogy first (which is supposed to be read later) that I was prepared to some of the events, which worked for me to be prepared, but to enjoy this duet without spoilers it would be best to read in the right order.

Moving back to my TBR to try again when I’m in the mood.

DNF: Stopped at 37 %

It's a good idea. This story is a slow burn, like real slow because the alpha's mate doesn't know as the title correctly points out. I didn't really feel like I connected with any of the characters so I sort of lost interest in their story.i kind of wanted to see how it played out but almost 600 pages wasn't going to be it for me. Could easily be done in 250 to 300.

I feel so sorry for Olivia because she doesn't know her background and she kind of feels unsure of herself all the time, which I didn't really like. I understand her older brother wanting to protect her but I feel like her could have gradually told her about her origins. I know this is going to blow up in his face when she finds out.

Like I said before this book is a slow burn. Like really slow, too slow for me. I mean I don't like instalove but this slow burn was too much for me. I liked Kaden. His alpha energy was spot on.

Something that got under my skin was the use of the words orbs or peepers to refer to eyes. It irked me so much I wanted to puke every time. Sorry.

I really wanted to like this book because the author reached out to me personally but I really couldn't connect with this story.

great story!

I love breaking up all the romance I read with a good fantasy. Werewolves are fun and it’s nice seeing a story where they aren’t the bad guys… not all of them anyway. Although this does tell a love story, there is no smut and a pretty clean read.

The jist: Olivia has been lied to for the majority of her life, she is a werewolf. She meets her mate, Alpha Kaden, but doesn’t understand why she feels such a strong pull towards him. They both go through unexpected, life and death situations in hopes to truly be together.

I loved this story. We get a pretty good background on all the main characters and I love the multiple points of view. If you’re new to the werewolf fantasy life, there is plenty of detail and explanation into their way of life.

Something that took some getting used to was the writing. Overall it was great, but there were times when it seemed written in the wrong tense. Getting passed that, I really enjoyed this book and was happy it didn’t end in a cliffhanger!

Eli Blake is an absolute genius of the form!

despite even my limited werewolf knowledge, I can imagine how tough it must be to be mated to a woman that doesn’t even know she’s also a werewolf. and that’s where Kaden finds himself with Olivia. worse yet, he’s an Alpha and she’s dating a HUMAN of all things! watching this situation sort itself out was only secondary, however, for me being that I’d read latter books by this author and when recognizing characters in their earliest iteration, was pleasantly surprised by the consistency, such as Luke’s preferred method of death, spoken by him any time his life is threatened. another masterpiece!

This book was amazing I couldn’t even put it down I loved watching Olivia and Kaden fall in love and watch the struggle of Kaden knowing his mate is his but her not knowing what she is or who is it was amazing story kept me keeping reading
